Sally's Birthday

The eve of Sally's birthday was more emotional than I thought.  Daddy had a work Happy Hour, so was home a little later and the girls were in "the day is over can we just be done?" moods.  Mommy felt the same.  Music cures all, so we danced.  Each girl got one song to dance to with me and then they danced together.

Of course, "Never Grow Up" has to be the song that comes on for the girls.  Tears were flowing!

Last night of being 4
The emotions continued as I drafted Sally's birthday post.  But the actual day of, I kept it together pretty well!

I don't go all out for Birthday Parties and details.  I do like to do a lot of little things on the actual birthday that add up throughout the day, things that can become traditions.

On the morning of her birthday, Sally woke up to a scavenger hunt!  She was very surprised, because she knew she had gotten quite a few early gifts, rain boots, a new bed and a singing Anna Doll.

Her first clue

Thank you Uncle Marc for her new shoes, she LOVES them!!

The last minute grab, ends up being the favorite gift.  I had said Libby helped me pick it out, so she continues to thank and thank and thank Libby for her new mermaid!

Libby did such a great job letting it be all about Sally and never once complaining that she didn't get anything.

As you know, one of the things Sally was most excited for about turning 5 was that she could now have gum!  She got quite a few packs :)

Daddy picked up Donuts after his morning work out!

After breakfast we watched her 5th year slideshow and noticed an email from Santa!! Thank you PNP for keeping the magic alive! I totally forgot about it, and wish I had a picture of Sally's face when she was watching it!!

Her first piece of gum, and her "Birthday Dress" Thank you Grandma!!

We headed to Cub to pick out her Birthday Balloon and then off to Swimming Lessons where they sang Happy Birthday to her!

Reid had class Thursday night so he wasn't going to be able to see much of Sally on her birthday, so we arranged to meet him for lunch.  It was a surprise to the girls!

My Sweet Sweet Sally Ann, who is now 5!!
We were going to go bowling, but Thunderstorms were set to roll in so Sally opted for a movie!

She chose Butterflies and flowers over Princesses this year!
Uncle Joey came by to drop off Grandma and George's gift and was there at 5:21pm the exact time Sally was born, and we all sang Happy Birthday!

She loved it and her new mermaid
She chose Mac N Cheese for her dinner and ice cream for dessert!  It was a special day for a special girl!

She got to celebrate her birthday at school on Friday and we were asked to come to read a book of Sally's choosing.  It was fun to see her in her school setting and see her class "in action"

Daddy was able to come too
 Sally chose "Lyle Lyle Crocodile"
Getting her Birthday crown.  Finally, it's her turn to celebrate at school.

One of Grandma and George's gifts was a puzzle of the US.  She LOVES it!!
Thank you for all of the emails, messages, phone calls, cards and gifts, she felt very loved and special on her birthday!!
