March Madness

I kind of liked the magical winter, it reminded me of when I was little, so much snow and the magic of being told school was 2 hours late or canceled.

Our school has a great Ski Club program, that I just learned of this year.  I decided to take Sally on one of her Kid Dates to join the club and have some one on one skiing with her.  It was so much fun!

Fun to have Big kids to do Big kid stuff with
 Pretty view
There was a morning that went quite smoothly and reaffirmed the decision to have a big family.  To help get out the door Libby helped Mason get his shoes and jacket on and Sally helped Elizabeth study her spelling words.  The girls had my phone in the back with them so Sally could reference Libby's spelling list.  We happened to pass a cement mixer on the way and Sally got a picture of Mason spotting it :)
and then I asked Sally and Libby to take a selfie because, how cute are they? Not all mornings are that smooth, but I soak up the good ones!
We had conferences one evening. We had to kill some time in the car, so I let Mason out so he could enjoy a video with his sisters...
 Nuts-o---animals out of their cages...
 a sweet note from Elizabeth
Taking all 4 to the dentist is GREAT fun...especially when they got back one at a time instead of all at once...we survived, and at least all cavity free!
 We built at Ma$e truck

It's tough to be a 2 year old when mom puts your snack in the wrong bowl...
[VIDEO] The snow was so pretty glistening in the sunrise

I got a whole morning off to meet Kari for breakfast and a morning at the Mall, to celebrate our birthdays, it was wonderful and much needed.  The pretty drive on the way to breakfast
We could have sat and chatted all day!
 Mister LOVES to read!

Costco run and lunch after...love how the slice of pizza is bigger than Emma's head
 Family rosary!
Our heat went out 2 consecutive Mondays in a row.  Both times by the time the technician arrived, the furnace appeared to be working correctly.  Thankfully the 2nd time the guy was able to solve the mystery.  Thankful for our Service Plus with Centerpoint
also thankful for our fireplace that heats up the family room more than I thought it did!
 Dr. Seuss Day at school!
Love watching this Little Honey play!
He's a sensitive soul too.  There's this little video he and Emma have started to watch when I walk the Bigs out to the bus...it was crazy cold and not worth bundling everyone up to stand outside for 5 minutes, so I'd put this show on so they'd stay put...

one time I came in and Mason was crying, he said the baby was sad.  A second time the same thing happened, I soon discovered the little baby was sick and Mason was sad for him.  The third time, I caught it on video!

Now I make sure to fast forward during that part of the show...sweet empathetic boy!

Elizabeth had her first Class Mass, can you spot her in the Choir?

She was hoping to be able to bring down the Gifts...apparently the sought after role...I prefer the reading or petition, but, I'm glad she was happy :)
 Dropping goods off for PROP
 So Proud!
She CANNOT wait to receive the Holy Eucharist next year!

See proud Emma, waving her sweet little hand
He basically has to take a half day when he comes to school Mass because our school starts so late. We appreciate him!

I treated myself to a Friday afternoon off.  Our small group had to meet later than normal and the Bigs were going to Grandma's for a sleepover so I got our sitter, Elizabeth from 1pm until 7pm (met Reid and John for Happy Hour too!) Cheers to the crazy church ladies!
Thanks Grandma for having Elizabeth and Sally over, they loved it!
 reading reading and more reading!
I knew I shouldn't have said it when our furnace went out out..."You know you're a mom when you're glad it's your furnace and not your washing machine." and then our Dryer went out last week Tuesday...praying all is fixed by tomorrow, a full two weeks of it being out! YIKES!

Elizabeth had a great Basketball season...we don't order sport pictures this early, so I just take a screenshot of the proof :)

Reid was able to make it in to volunteer for Pioneer day, part of their Little House in the Big Woods series in 1st grade!

One last beautiful shot of Dunrovin, where we stayed

Some videos for good measure...

Not sure if I'll be back for a while...if our dryer gets fixed tomorrow I'll be busy with laundry and prepping for our vaca to AZ, and allllllll the kiddos are  home tomorrow!

Catch you soon, Go Gopher Basketball!

Record MN Winter

This winter was a record breaker.  We got the most snowfall in the month of February than in a realllly long time. I'm too lazy to look up the actual record.  Most of it fell during the week, which meant a lot of delayed school days, early releases and a few cancellations.

A handful of pictures to show how crazy  high the snow banks got.

This picture was taken March 12, notice the snow is almost touching the bottom of the swing

Thankfully after January it didn't seem to be AS bitterly cold. The kiddos spent hours in our front yard building tunnels and castles and just creating!
I believe this was the day in February where we officially broke the snowfall record
I wonder how many times I dried their snow gear this winter...
 Sweet Baby Ava!
Mason entertaining the ladies during Elizabeth's basketball game
Thank you Lucy for letting Mason borrow your hoop during small group!
 Mason's 2 year well-visit. Grateful for a healthy kiddo!

Discovered Emma could write most of her letters without looking at anything for reference
 Sally's snowflake creation
She can't get enough of writing at drawing as of late
The banks in the parking lot at Emma's Pre-school.  You can't even see if there are cars parked until you're during down the lane...notice the "no parking" sign and how high the snow is.
 Our front walk banks
all the way to the mailboxes
Beautiful sunrise when I was coming home from the gym, and noting the fact you have to pull halfway into oncoming traffic to see if cars are coming...
 Hours and hours of playing
The Bigs and I had a fun day at the Mall picking up clothes for our upcoming trip to AZ

Girls night out at church BINGO.  We all went to Saturday vigil Mass and then Reid took Mason home for bed.  It was a crazy fun night!
She wanted to let Daddy know that she had his favorite number on her board, 38.
 Mom won the first game!!
 Then Elizabeth won a game!!

and Sally won a door prize!
Cheering her up after she was the only non-craigmile winner...
Fun memories with my girls. Thankful for Reid hanging back with Mason.
Lots and lots and lots of dance parties during the winter!

 Lots of dress up too!
Everyday at 1pm the retreat leaders would pray a prayer together.  Emma loved to wait to go down for her nap until after my alarm went off and we prayed together.
 Watching Mason's imagination run wild!

Emma knows how to spell and write Craigmile!
and that's a wrap for today, Happy Lent!
