We hosted a BISHOP!!

This week is our Parish is having a Lenten Mission.  They brought in Bishop Sam Jacobs from Louisiana to be the guest speaker.  We were asked if we would be willing to host him at our home for dinner.

Suuuuuuuure, why not?

Thankfully he is quite comfortable with children, because our children were not shy.  I attribute it with our wonderful friendship with Father Don.  What a gift that has been for our entire family, to normalize the Priesthood and treat them just as we would any other treasured visitor in our home.

Our Children certainly did just that with the Bishop.  Was it perfect?  Definitely not.  We had our moments, but that's real life with youngesters.  Mason was especially "on fire." He couldn't wait to get out of his seat during the meal to crawl up on Bishop's lap and show him his trucks.  Emma snuggled right in while Sally read a story.

What a memorable evening!

Name cards for the table!

What a joyful evening

We also got to treat our awesome parish priest to a birthday dinner out! We went to Coalition in Excelsior, it was delicious!
This is now all melted and is being replenished with an April snowstorm...
Let him out of the stroller, walks directly to a puddle and falls right in...

During my morning runs I try and listen to a podcast for half or 3/4 the run and then the last portion I need a little pick me up and turn on the Matt Maher station on Amazon Music.  2 days in a row I had little miracles of the first song that came on was a perfect depiction of the podcast I had just listened to.  I was listening to Father Mike Schmitz's latest homilies with the Theme on "Behind Enemy Lines."  This was the first day, it made me want to fist pump my last few laps :) When it happened two days in a row, I couldn't believe it.  The 2nd day the song was, "Your love Defends me"  God is good and has a great way of getting my attention
a little flash back that I must have posted 6 years ago.  Grandpa Joe...thought about and prayed for each and every day!
First Burley ride of the season, they loved it!
Miss Anne is the greatest.  She hosted our small group last week and she always brings out fun toys for the two littles that are in our group.  She strapped on this hat and encouraged the kids to throw the balls at her head.  Mason is still giggling about this!
Mason slept in and didn't get a chance to see Daddy before he left for work. He wanted to be sure to show daddy his race car shirt!
Praying the Rosary for a friend who's mom had surgery.  The prayers worked, surgery went well!
Back to being besties!  After being gone in AZ and Mason not feeling well they weren't "clicking" for two weeks.

It was the first Saturday morning in a long time that Daddy didn't have prayer group, a conference, adoration or we were on vacation.  Mason was still sleeping so we decided to capitalize and do a family rosary!
