Zhu Zhu Pets

Sally has some new "friends" she's been playing with for a little over a month.  Sophie, Hank, Finnegan and Snicklefritz.  They come with names and birthday, this generation's beanie babies.

Here's what she thought of them at first:

and now she plays with them like this:

"They're gonna get Belle!"

She especially likes to play with them while I'm getting dinner ready-bonus!

Happy Leap Day!

One of Sally's more recently favorite things to do:

Libby loves to lay under the activity mat {Thank you Izzy for sharing} and talk to her Mama

Nuk Fairy

The Nuk Fairy came to Sally's house.  She took her nuks to give to another baby girl who needs them and left her a Cinderella Barbie.

Sally was very excited! First nap went great. First bedtime routine went great and then she woke up at 6am and from her nap wanting her nuks.  We talked more and more about it throughout the day and evening.   Then this morning she slept in until 7:30, with no mention of the nuks and she has done great so far with her nap without the nuks.  So far I'd call it a success...I'll let you know if anything changes.

My favorite site these past few days:

I'm loving her too! It is a little bit of a love/hate as she hasn't been giving me any naps...

Funny Faces

Sally loves to take pictures, and instead of saying "Say Cheeeeeese," she says "Do a funny face!"

What Sally asks, Nana and Grandpa do:

Thanks for being such great sports, we love you!

Happy Ash Wednesday

You can about imagine how thrilled Sally was to go to Ash Wednesday Mass and get "blessed" on her forehead.  Once we made it back to our pew she kept whispering "Hey mom, She got blessed too.  Hey, he did too! So did she!"  As soon as we got home, she quickly took her shoes off and ran into the bathroom to look in the mirror so she could see her ashes.

Big thank you to Uncle Joey for filling in for daddy while he's out of town.  Libby sure enjoyed snuggling with him.

The other night Reid was being silly and he put Sally's towel on.  Sally took one look and said, "Hey, does Mary wear that?" Yes, the Virgin Mary, Mother of God...only Sally would see that.  There isn't a Saint Sally, but maybe she'll be the one!

Thank you Auntie Jenny for my cute outfit!

This is my Buddy, this is my Pal

We went up to St. Cloud to see our good friends, Meghan and Dan.  Sally enjoyed Bella, or Belly as she likes to call her :)

We also had fun with our close friends, Pat, Tiffany and Izzy.  Playing with the best toy; ever.  Right Tiff? ;)

Best of friends on a lazy Sunday

We grow 'em big

What can I say, I have big babies.  They come out three month olds...

We had Libby's 2 month check up on Friday.  She did great! {Much better than her sister ever did}  The Doctor didn't even bat an eye at her stats.  I guess I shouldn't either, her sister was pretty much excatly the same. {keeping in mind that she was a pound and a half less at birth}  Libby's proportional, so it looks totally normal, she just doesn't look like a 2 month old :)

Weight: 13lbs 2 oz - 95%
Length: 23inches - 74%
Head: 40 1/4 cm - 84%

She's a happy healthy girl and that's all that matters.  We love her so, especially her belly laughs that she's learning how to do!

I can't look at this next picture without cracking up.  It's a long story about why she has the bunny ears, but she had us laughing so hard, in the car.  As she was putting the ears on backwards, squishing her cheeks and giggling "I'm a bear?" "Nooooooooo, I'm a kitty." She kept going and going, but at times couldn't talk because she {and Reid and I} were laughing so hard.  It looks like she has a fat suit on...

Oh our little peanuts, or lack thereof :)

We enjoyed our weekend.  How about you?

Reid and Sally got outside quite a bit to play.  Libby and I joined in for a walk.  I got butterflies in my stomach thinking about the nicer days to come, lots of walks and trips up to the park with my two girls.  Every year we surive the long winter days, and every spring I wonder how we do it.  This winter has been weird, but we've still been stuck indoors for the most part. Looking forward to the warmer weather!

Marshmallow Test

Have you heard of it?  The "official" test is suppose to be given when a child is 4 years old.  They are given one marshmallow and told that if they don't eat it when the adult returns, they will be given two marshmallows.  They are left alone for 20 minutes.

We did M&Ms and Sally was left for 3 minutes.  Check out the video and see if she can delay gratification or if she needs it instantly :)

Happy Sunny Friday!

Two Months

Little Sister is two months today! She's doing wonderfully!

*She's finally taking the bottle {after experimenting with different nipples, the Nuk brand finally worked}, so her Mama can have some freedom in the evenings!

*She's getting better at holding her head up and keeping it steady

*She is becoming a better napper during the day, which makes for a much smoother day.  She usually naps for 2-4 hours, is up for an hour and a half to eat and play and then goes back down.  She's usually down for the night around 9:30-10 and will sleep until 3:30-4am then up every 3 hours until 9am

*She loves... to smile, to face outward and be sitting up so she can see what's going on, her big sister, soft blankets by her face, to suck on her hand to soothe herself back to sleep, her daddy's voice, music, shadows, sleeping on her tummy, rock-the faster the better, baths, laying on her changing table, her mama's milk

*Does not like riding in the car {just like her big sister}, when her mommy is yelling at her big sister, to be cold, to get dressed, the anticipation of a burp, to be left alone and awake-unless on her changing table

*She's a messy eater, often has milk running down her cheek

We have her two month check up tomorrow afternoon so I'll have her stats on Monday, if I remember :)

We were trying to show how well she does tummy time, but she didn't want to cooperate

She's big, but still able to fit into her "going home outfit" although, it is a 3 month outfit :)

Hey Everyone!

I think she looks like Minnie Mouse here

Love the crooked grin

Happy 2 months, sweet Baby Girl, we love you lots and lots!

Catching some Zzz's

Is there anything more precious and innocent than a sleeping baby?

Poor second born.  She was playing with Mama, but then her naughty big sister got out of her bed during nap so Mommy had to go put her back to bed and Libbers just got flopped on the couch.  Clearly, she didn't mind.

The snugglier the blanket, the better.  The closer to her face, the better {yeah, we break all the rules}.  There is one blanket in particular, if it touches her face her eyes go all over the place as she fights to keep them open.  No matter if she's tired or not.

I caught the end of a sleeping smile!

A wise person once told me to record your baby sleeping as you'll soon forget how little they looked in their crib.  We did it with Sally and I will often go back and view that video.  So glad we did!

Again, I'm well aware that we're breaking all the rules, no blankets, back to sleep, blah blah blah :)

♥ Happy Balentime'z Day! ♥

My Littlest Valentine

Daddy's extra special Valentine

So proud of her shirt

Getting ready for our lunch date with Daddy!
Libby is saying, "Holy cow people, slow down and enjoy your day!" If you've ever been downtown in the skyways around lunch time, you know what I mean!

Happy Heart's Day to you and yours!

Belle Belle Belle

"Hey Mom, can you wrap up Belle?"

"I'm snuggling with Belle right now"

"Please be quiet, Belle is sleeping"

"Do you hear that? Belle is crying, I better go get her."

"Are we both holding our babies?"

And on and on goes her day with her BFF Belle!  I love being in the other room and hearing her talk with Belle.  I love that her imagination is really starting to expand.

Thoughts

My heart has been exploding these past few days.  I feel like everything is starting to settle down and everything is falling into place quite nicely. I can't get enough of my girls. {I sure would like a lot more of my husband, as he's been so busy with school and work, but that too shall pass...}

There's this one

who is becoming more and more independent each day, but still loves her Mama so.  My sister said something the other day that I find to be quite true.  Behavior, good and bad, doesn't really go every other year, it is more on a six month cycle.  I feel like we just conquered the naughty and exhausting 6 months and are entering into 6 months of pure bliss.  OK, let's be serious, not pure bliss, but a much better 6 months.

She knows her limits and isn't choosing to push them...as much.  She'd rather play and have a good time, as opposed to sitting in time outs or not being able to play with her favorite toys. She's realizing that her Mom and Dad really are the boss and really will take away Belle.  She loves her sister, more than I expected her to. She's my Sally and I love her so!

Did I tell you we registered her for pre-school next year? Wasn't she just learning to walk?

And then there's this one

My sweet little Libby.  She's starting to figure things out too!  She's becoming more content and not always needing to be held when she's awake, she's learning how to go to the bathroom when she needs to {her sister had a problem with this when she was an infant too}, she's learning how to sooth herself to sleep and most importantly she knows how to melt her Mama's heart.

Oh those sweet sweet innocent smiles.  My favorite is in the middle of the night {more so early morning as she's sleeping so great}, right after I nurse her and I put her on my shoulder to burp her before I lay her back down, I put my face near hers and she nuzzles her way into my neck. Her warm, sweet breath on my neck and then she gives a little giggle and a smile, all the while still sleeping, as if to say, "Yes Mom, I love you too."  I can't stop staring and this little baby, this little girl that is mine.  This little being that was kicking and growing inside me only eight weeks ago.  Libby, the sister Sally always knew she wanted.  Libby the newest addition to our little family.  Libby, the piece we didn't know was missing, but now could not imagine life with out.

My girls, my purpose.

Button Nose

Libby's nose acts as a button to make her smile.  Take a look!

We've been having some good days around here.  Yesterday morning I was able to clean the whole house, do all of the laundry AND get a shower in!

Libby slept wonderfully last night, 10:15-4:30 and then 5-9:15!

We went to the mall this morning to "play" :)

Funny Faces

Sally thinks it is so funny when Libby sits or gets burped like this...

She laughs and says, "Mommy look at Libby doing funny faces!"

"Hi Libs, can you do funny faces for me?"

In other news, this weekend we were in Target, walking toward the baby stuff, past the bra section.  Sally says, "Hey Mom, look at all the boobs!"
