This and This Happened

So the other morning this happened

See that face? She knew she was in trouble.  I was gone for 30 seconds to help Sally in the bathroom.  Not sure if she was exploring or trying to smell the pretty flowers that Daddy gave Mommy.

But then this also happened

Sally got she and Libby a snack. Helped put Libby's shoes on.  Helped her get outside to sit on the step and opened her snack for her.  All asking permission before she did it. So happy to be here to witness these moments.

God was quite the artist yesterday morning

Reid captured this picture on the way to the gym

God also helped create this beauty

We've been having a lot of fun at the pool.  Libby finally went in the water on her own terms.  After a few successful trips down the water slide she was wet enough that she didn't mind walking into the pool.

Water slides, so much fun, but such a work out! Climbing all of the stairs quickly, to keep up with the excited four year old while holding Libby and a 3 person tube.  Then to quickly get us situated in the tube and to keep us afloat after we "land" and paddle us to the side to lift the girls to safety to then hear "AGAIN MOM, Let's do that again!!"  I'm going to have some sick thighs by the end of the summer after all of my stair climbing.

I'm not complaining. It really is a lot of fun.  I just wish I could trust Libby to climb the stairs herself!

"Hey Mom, take a picture and send it to Daddy so he can see me on my bike, and then let me type my name" She text now.  She'll never know what life was like without technology. A little more simpler, but imagine how much Reid loves being able to see his girls throughout the day while he's at work.

We went back to the pool for round two yesterday.  Knowing that Daddy had class so we might as well stay for dinner!

Today's Grandpa's Birthday!

We hope you had a most blessed day Grandparooni!! We thought about you a lot. We're so thankful to have you in our lives! Here's to many many more birthday celebrations!!

The rest of the stormy/sunny weekend

Uncle Joey didn't have power this weekend, still doesn't, as of Monday night. So we got to hang with him quite a bit, which was fun!

Sally also had a birthday party at KidsCreate Studio.  It was ice cream themed and lots of fun!

Across the street and 3 houses down
Not terrible, considering how many trees are on our block

Snuggles with Uncle Joey

Joey likes to explore and drive around in his new truck and I wanted to see what damage there was around the lakes.  So we took a little Saturday night cruise around Lake Calhoun, Lake Harriett, and Lake of the Isles.
Have you seen the Super Moon?  This picture doesn't do it justice

We ended the night with a little old school!
It has been long overdue that we get together with our neighbors that live 5 houses down.  We've said if they were a few houses closer we would probably hang out quite often.  We finally arranged a little BBQ and it was so great getting to know them as well as swap parenting advice and baby stories.  We will be getting together again, really soon!  Thank you for having us over!!
Sally's been counting down the days until she could scooter down to Maddie's house, she's way ahead of Reid and Libby

Bridesmaids up to no good

Friday was a lot of fun...until the storm hit. UGH why does MN weather always find a way to get in the way?

Thankfully we had the best of the best for sitters at our house.  When we came home, there was no electricity, both girls were sleeping soundly and the sitters were hanging out on the couch with flashlights and candles.  It is also worth mentioning that their mom came over to start the shift so Reid could make it on time for the wedding reception.  Did we hit the jackpot or what? Thank you lovely ladies for taking such good care of our little girls!! We appreciate you!

Also, thank you to Kristen for bringing Reid and I back home safely in between the storms, even if we did have to leave the reception earlier than intended.

**We are one of the lucky ones who got power restored at 8am on Saturday morning!! Phew!

Back to the reception. It was a wonderful girls day and a fabulous party to celebrate Jenny & Michael!!

Meggers!!

We enjoyed a lazy lunch at Maynard's in Rogers.  Me and Lizzy Lou

I have my own stylist, you know! She's going to be sorry she did such an awesome job, thank you Carrie!!

Moments

**I actually posted this post yesterday afternoon, but set it to publish this AM. After having completed this post, I read something on another blog that had to do with moments!

"I’m realizing life is made up of moments… simple moments… moments strung together. Happy, silly, sad, hard beautiful moments… MOMents… It’s no surprise to me that the word Mom is snuck in there."

Mama gets a little break today I get to spend the whole day with my girlfriends.  We're celebrating Jenny and Michael's marriage from last January in the Dominican.  A HUGE thank you to Uncle Joey for being our DD tonight!!

A few sweet moments from this week

Bus Driver

She continues to be my little fish.  Loving the water!

She is still quite hesitant. Oh well, so far it makes for an easier summer at the pool

We have another Saint in the making.  Libby can spot this sign at the pool from a mile away, and when she does, she shouts JEES JEES JEES {Jesus}!

Big Sister showing Little Sister the way home

Sporting a cute hand-me-down dress from our neighbors across the street. Thank you!!

Happy First Official Day of Summer!

Have a Terrific Weekend!

Okee Dokee Brothers!

My sister reminded me that the Okee Dokee Brothers were playing at a park near our house, last night.  It was so much fun. It's what summer nights are all about it!  It was nice to be with the Nash and Christensen Family. Eight kids in total were with our group {Nash's accounting for half them :)}!!

If you don't know who they are and you have kids, grandkids or know kids, I suggest you order their CD now :) They were Grammy Winners, after all!  Songs are fun for both kids and adults!

Thank you Grandma and George for getting us started on listening to them!!
