Anticipation

Here's a video from about a week ago. This was during the super hot and humid week, hence the greasy grossness of Sally :)

I might be little, but I know what I want!

Cannon loves his trucks; Sally loves to take Cannon's trucks! Not the best combination. This video is priceless. Cannon does such a great job of holding back his anger, when in all honesty, Sally deserves a little push!

Weekend at Nana & Pa's

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Grandpa's Birthday. As I look at the photos below, Nana didn't make it in a single one...she was always busy cooking and baking the yummy treats for us-Thank you!

Happy Birthday Grandpa, we love you!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Happy Happy Birthday Grandpa! We can't wait to see you in a few short hours and celebrate your birthday! Thanks for being the bestest Grandpa ever, I love you!Sorry, there are two videos because they are just too darn cute. If you listen closely sometimes you can hear Sally say phrases that she doesn't know she's saying. Like, in the second one when I ask who she's talking to, it sounds like she responds, "None of your beeswax!" Enjoy your weekend!

Double Trouble

We had a play date with our friends Lucy (adorable 1 year old), and her mom Mary, from ECFE. They live just two blocks from us. It was so fun to catch up, and to see the girls start to realize one another are there. They loved to go exploring, and as always, Sally beelined it for the stairs. She also loved their pug, and all her kisses!

Mary and I were thinking that in a few short years the girls will be able to walk/bike to each other's house to play! Don't grow up too fast girls!

Thanks for having us over and for sharing all of your fun toys! We'll have to do it again soon!

Afternoon Stroll

When people ask how old Sally is and I respond 13 months they immediately ask, "Is she walking yet?"

Nope, and I'm not in any hurry for her to walk, more chasing, more boo boos, more tears, BUT she looks darn cute doing it! Someday soon, she'll be walking and we won't be able to remember when she couldn't.

Yesterday we braved the heat and "walked" around for a bit, I just love this first picture. It makes me laugh every time I see it. She was giggling so hard and then the sun was in her face!

Check out these Shades

We had some friends over Friday night for a BBQ. The sun was setting and in Sally's eyes, so we jokingly put Reid's sunglasses on her. She loved them! She does have a pair of her own, but she won't leave them on for more than two seconds. She left Reid's on for a long time and kept looking around and giggling. What a nut!

☼ Happy 1st Day of Summer! ☼

We had a wonderful day yesterday, celebrating Father's Day. We did a lot of things, but it still felt like a relaxing day. We did a lot of things we always talk about doing, but never get around to do it.

We started out the day with a morning walk to Caribou!

We were able to lay out, enjoy our coffee, and read the Sunday paper, during both nap times!

We went to "Good Day Cafe- Bad Day Bar," for brunch. We've been wanting to go here for some time and have heard from many people how great the food is. We've always been shy to go because of the long wait times. However, when we called on Saturday to see what time they open on Sundays they said you can call ahead and get on the list. We were able to cut our wait time in half! I would highly recommend this place! Great prices too! We couldn't believe how many pregnant mamas we saw throughout the day. I would say at least 10!

Daddy got to enjoy his favorite, Eggs Benedict

Mommy got to enjoy one of her favorites, Crepes with Strawberries on top...Sally enjoyed some too!

After nap time, we braved the humid weather and the crowds to find a front and center parking spot at Como Zoo! Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh my! We saw it all! It was so fun to get Sally to see the big animals and once she spotted them she would wave and say "Hiiiii" The polar bear exhibit is finally open to the public, however, I didn't get a picture of them.

Big Kitty!!

Having a staring contest with the Lion

Very hot and sticky, but enjoying the animals

Always entertained by all the little kiddies running around

Saying Hello to the Giraffes

I couldn't resist this picture!

My two Monkeys looking at the monkeys

I don't know who likes them more, Sally or Daddy?
Because we were so close, we had to make a pit-stop and visit Joe Joe at work! Don't mind the aisle we're in, that's where Joey had to stock the shelves :)

Happy Father's Day, Daddy! We love you so much and appreciate all that you do for us! You're the best dad I could have ever hoped for, for Sally!

;-) Wink Wink ;-)

Yesterday during lunch, Sally was being a goofball, yet again. She is starting to try and learn how to wink, it's pretty entertaining. She has also mastered her fake laugh...

I am not doing anything behind the camera to get her to laugh, I'm feeding Henry his bottle...Enjoy!

I Scream You Scream We All Scream for Ice Cream

This pictures is from a few weeks ago when Sally got to try her first chocolate ice cream cone. She was a big fan!

She's not so much a big fan of her dad getting mad at her. Sally does a very good job of understanding when she can and can't do something. If she's been told "No No No" about something, say pulling the string on the blinds, the next time she goes to pull the string on the blinds she touches them, looks for mommy or daddy and gets a sly grin on her face and starts to giggle. All we have to do is shake our head No and she moves on to play with something else.

Last night, I was holding her and she loves to slap faces, but then you say "gentle," she'll stop hitting and slowly stroke your face. Reid walked in when she was hitting my face and said "Sally Ann, you do NOT hit Mommy's face." She looked at me, looked at daddy, looked at me, then looked back at daddy and got the biggest pouty lip. Then the lip began to quiver and the tears started flowing, crying, as if someone had cut off her big toe. It took everything in me to not just snuggle her and get her to laugh to make it seem as if everything was okay, because then she's going to see Daddy as the mean one and Mommy as the softy (which actually I think will end of being the reverse). She soon forgot the incident and was laughing and dancing again. She still snuggled with Daddy and gave him kisses before bed.

Oh, our sensitive Sally, just being a girl!

The Tickle Monster

We had a wonderful weekend! My former co-worker, Kari got married this weekend. We had a rockin' (lots of dancing) time! It was fun to see and catch up with the old work crew. We are definitely not a boring bunch of catholic school teachers. We were on the dance floor pretty much the entire night. Thank you to Kari and Andy for throwing such a fun party!

We spent Sunday with Nana and Grandpa as they treated us to brunch at Perkin's and a few goodies from Great Grandma Joan!

Sally was all over the place with her sleep schedule this weekend. Friday she slept in until 9:45, and Saturday until 8:30. She usually gets up around 7 or 7:30. She would still take great morning naps, but usually the afternoon nap didn't go so well. Last night she started to get the overtired silliness. Hopefully this will brighten your rainy day, or should I say rainy daysssss! Enough with the rain already, I would like some sunshine please!

Spike Jr.

My dad was known for giving nicknames. Mine happened to be Spike because of the way my hair would look after a good night's rest, or nap time. Sally girl seems to be following in her mommy's footsteps!

Here's the fix for "Spike Hair"

Couldn't miss out on showing you these adorable shoes from Nana and Grandpa, they're still a little big, but we still love them!

Peek-a-boo! (Grandpa, is this better? I thought it would be a good idea to hide since I didn't have my clothes on...)

Why not end the post with a video! She's getting smarter and smarter every day!

Tiff Knows Best!

You all know my creative friend Tiff, well, she's done it again! For Sally's birthday she made her an adorable bean bag cover. At first Sally wasn't too sure about her new seat, but now she has come to love it!

She also made a CD for Sally of Sunday School Jams! Sally's been doing a great job of improving her dance skills! She has even started to pick up her feet and tap them like she's dancing, when she's standing. She's really gotten the shimmy down as well. I'll try and get a good video of it one of these days!

Cheeese!

Sally has become so much more playful and understanding of her silliness! Our days have been filled with even more smiles and laughter...if that's even possible! This was our lunch from yesterday!

I love this Bar

Sorry for the late post today, blogger was down for some maintenance.

We had a wonderful weekend! We went out for a double date with our good friends Kyle and Laura and used our neighbor across the street to babysit! She was wonderful, we came home to a spotless house and a peacefully sleeping baby. How lucky are we to have found such a wonderful babysitter and she lives across the street! Ready or not, here come regular date nights!

We went to
Toby Keith's I Love This Bar. We had a great time! Their prices were amazing, as well as their food! We will be going back for sure!

Sunday was a beautiful day so we ended up going to Grand Old Days in Saint Paul. Sally is just like her mama and loves to people watch. This was the place for her! She was mesmerized by all of the people, kids and puppies!

We hope you had a wonderful weekend as well!

**Yes, we're aware that we are all matching. No, we did not plan this**

COWBOYS...

Joerger Genes

The Joerger's are Nana's side of the family. Their genes are very prominent! All the cousins, uncles, aunts and grandchildren look alike. They also get their craziness from one another! It was so good to see and catch up with the family members that live in Kansas. When can you move to Minnesota?

Every year they have a family help weekend where they help with yard and house projects at a designated spot. This year was at the Grandparents' farm in Vining, MN. Sally enjoyed the rocking horse she got to ride! Mark, did you get any paint on the barn? Also, let me know when you're ready for my order!
