Birthday Recap

Sally's 4th Birthday was a success.  Minus her losing her balloon {One of Mommy's worst feelings, seeing a balloon flying free}.  Her balloon got stuck in a tree and as you can imagine, she was in hysterics.  I was able to calm her down, and during her nap her balloon made it's way out of the tree.

Funny thing, this made her feel better.  She said, "Oh, that's wonderful, then it made it's way up to Heaven and now it's with Grandpa Joe.  I bet he's so happy!"  "And Mommy, did Grandpa Joe love princesses?"  To which I replied, "You bet, he had two of his very own, Jenny and me!" And all was well in the world again! Phew!

She talks about and asks questions about Grandpa Joe quite a bit.  In fact at church on Sunday she pointed to a guy who was sitting in front of us and whispered, "Look Mommy, it's Grandpa Joe!"  This man did indeed look very much like Grandpa Joe from the back.  Makes you wonder what goes on in little kids' dreams and mind. Makes me smile.

Especially because way back when we were on our way to the hospital to deliver Sally, my sister was telling her, then 2 year old son, that "Auntie Jackie and Uncle Reid were on their way to the hospital to have their baby."  William replied, "Yep, Auntie Jackie, Uncle Reid AND Grandpa Joe!"

Okay, back to the birthday! Sally woke up to a fun little scavenger hunt which in the end led her to a new scooter!

The First Clue on her Scavenger hunt!

She got to go for a quick spin in jammies and no shoes

Happy that Daddy got to stay for a few extra minutes in the am to enjoy the scavenger hunt and birthday cupcake

Special plate, and Birthday mug with apple juice!

Thank you Grandma and George for the Rapunzel hair!

My girl.

She's never loved a gift this much. Every minute she has asked if she can go on her scooter.  Can I go really quickly before school?  Can I ride my scooter before lunch? How about after nap? I love it!

IT'S MY SISTER'S BIRTHDAY!!

We went to go feed the ducks {duck} before the sprinkles arrived

Tea Party with Rapunzel!

The sprinkles came so the Birthday Princess enjoyed playing with her new Easel.

Birthday Dinner at Noodles!

Birthday Cake time! She picked out a "Brave" cake.  She insisted on chocolate! She ate only the frosting...
It was a fun trip picking up her birthday cake though, as many of the workers told her Happy Birthday.  They know us pretty well...we're there at least once if not two or three times a week.  3 of the produce guys even sang Sally Happy Birthday!

As I checked on her before I headed to bed last night, I whispered one more Happy Birthday in her ear.  I just love this Mom gig! Crazy how quickly time really does go.  You hear it over and over, but it is hard to believe it when you're in the thick of the infant/newborn stage.  Four, my first born is really 4! Wow.  What a sweet little girl she is.  She wraps her dolls up in her blankets and they get their own pillow and tucked in her bed while Sally sleeps right next to them, each and every night. Love you Sweet Sally Ann!
