Tea Party
Sorry, no politics in this post. Sally had a Tea Party on Sunday with her Nana & Grandpa! She thoroughly enjoyed it!
A video of the party, if you care to take a peek:
Sorry Gpa, didn't know you weren't quite ready |
Sally can't wait to dive into her muffin |
So proud |
Cheers! |

The fact that all of her teeth have still.not.come.in. actually makes her look older because it looks like she has already started to lose her baby teeth... |

Busy day of cleaning, laundry and organizing, just a quick post of a picture of my cute Little Lady!

Sweet Girl
A few more of our sneak peek photos from our photo shoot with Liz...
**Some fun baby bump update. He/She is starting to do big kicks and movements, big enough to just look at my belly and see the movements. Sally loves to come over, lift up my shirt and say "Hi Baby, it's Sister Sally, can you move for me?" We can't wait for this Little to join our family!! The only thing we don't like to think about is that it also means that in 16 weeks it's December 17. Sorry, didn't mean to stress you out about Christmas shopping already :)
Have you voted on the right side as to whether you think it's a boy or a girl? As we get closer, I'll open up a baby poll to predict due date, time, gender, weight and length! I suppose I'll give a prize away to the winner!
Enjoy the beautiful weekend! Any MN State Fair Goers? What's your MUST HAVE when at the Fair?
She gets hot and sweaty just like her Mama |

Saturday Morning Donuts
Reid and Sally have been starting a trend, donuts on Saturday morning. Mommy enjoys the few minutes in the morning she gets to relax and read her book. While Daddy enjoys his extra one on one time with his little lady.

Stillwater-Celebrating 3 years
Saturday night, Reid and I celebrated our anniversary by going on a dinner boat cruise on the Saint Croix River in Stillwater.
A big thank you to our good friends Pat, Tiff and Isabelle for taking such great care of Sally and allowing her to come over for a sleepover. Not to mention a trip to the zoo! Thank you for loving her as much as we do :) She had a great time!

All aboard! |
Hot Air Balloons everywhere...maybe next year's anniversary?? |
Happy 3 years! |
The weather was absolutely perfect! |
After the cruise, we walked around downtown Stillwater. We couldn't pass up this malt shop...or the candy store across the street :) |
We took our bag of candy and sat down by the river for a bit before heading home |

Love
We had a regular prenatal check-up today. Big Sister made the cut again. She's very excited for her baby brother or sister. All went well with the appointment. Crazy we're already over the half way point! Heart rate was 150. Are you a boy or a girl? We're excited to find out! xo
I was excited to receive a "sneak peek" CD of pictures in the mail. The picture is from Sally's 2 year photo shoot with my friend Liz. I added the "extras" :) More pictures to come throughout the week.

Beautiful Bennies!
We had a blast a my good friend, Liz's, wedding this weekend. Here's a shot of the Bennies...just realizing we're missing the bride...
Our husbands and significant others were on the other side of the camera, so of course we didn't know where to look or who was shooting.
I'm not sure if I've mentioned that Sally really loves diversity, but she does. She loves my friend Carrie, and Carrie loves her! The other day a commercial came on for the show The Talk. Julie Chen was talking and Sally came running shouting "Hi Carrie, Hi Carrie!" When I told my friend Carrie of this, she was a big fan. I had to snap a photo of she and her guy Tyler so that Sally can see Carrie whenever she'd like :)
Reid especially had a great time at the wedding as the band was a country band. Each song they would play, Reid would look at me with a big smile and remind me that this song was also on his top playlist!

Special Friendship
Sally loves to go and visit her BFF Delores, our neighbor. Often times she walks on over, knocks on the door and says "Bye Mom, I see Delores." Delores will open the door and say she's going to play with Sally for a few minutes.
I love that Sally has this relationship. I had one just like it when I was little. Her name was Birda (sp?). I'd spend days with her playing cards, doing her nails, doing her hair, baking, the works.
Kids obey their elders differently than their parents. Kids know the elders have an extra special wisdom that their own parents don't quite possess yet. So I know Sally is behaving well, or at least listening to Delores.
Delores doesn't have many rules, but the one she does have, Sally is sure to obey. Delores gets nervous when Sally gets close to her bird bath because it isn't secured super well and it's concrete. She's afraid it'll fall and crush Sally. Each time Sally walks toward the bird bath she says "Just look, don't touch!"
I think I'll be sending Sally Delores' way, during her teenage years :)

Perks of Being a SAHM
We ♥ Ellen at our house. She is switching her time slot to 4pm and was in town promoting the switch. Monday night she was at the Twins game. Tuesday morning on my facebook feed I saw that she was going to be downtown at 11:15 by the Mary Tyler Moore statue. I sent Reid a quick message at 10:30 to tell him to check it out if it's close to him. He responded and said we should come and have lunch with him.
He didn't have to ask me twice, within 15 minutes Sally and I were out the door. How fun to spot a famous person, and I've been wanting to see where Reid works since he's moved downtown a little over a year ago. I like to be able to visualize where a person is, especially when they spend so much time there. I know, I'm weird like that.
We were lucky to spot her crossing the street and to capture a few pictures of her as well. I say lucky, because apparently some people were there at 6:45am to get a front row spot!
After spotting Ellen we headed to Daddy's work. Sally was just as excited as I was. Monday night at the dinner table when there was a lull in the conversation, Sally turned to Reid and matter of factly said "Daddy, tell me about your day!" Love that girl.
Reid had fun giving us the tour and introducing us to some of his co-workers.
We ended our visit with a quick purchase at Target to get our parking validated.
We did a lot of out and about yesterday and we had no accidents, the little lady caught on to this potty training thing pretty well. Next step of progress is being able to go on a regular toilet {instead of on Froggie in the back of the car :)}, and we're working on #2 as well...

80s and a totally Rockstar Dad!
Looking back, one of the things I'm most grateful that I did, was allow Reid to be a Dad. Sounds so simple right? What I mean by that is, I didn't treat him like a babysitter when I left for a night out or prior engagement. The same held true this weekend when I left Saturday morning for Meghan's Bachelorette Party. My only "instructions" were, if he put Sally in a diaper and it wasn't nap or bedtime he would be sleeping outside in a box with snakes for a week...he got the point :)
He did great, and so did she! She didn't have any accidents and he even ventured out for Church and a quick Target run! It was great to have a 24 hour break, after my long week in the bathroom with Sally.

The theme for the night out with the ladies was 80s...I think we pretty much rocked it!
