Kickoff to Summer

One of the evenings last week was beautiful. We had an early dinner and made it out for a peaceful walk with a stop at the park.

Reid took the pedals off of Libby's smaller bike to prep her for riding a 2-wheeler.  He also had a clever idea while on the walk to pull her like a dog...

Hi Mom!

One of Sally's end of the year celebrations is a 1-4th grade kickball tournament.  She was a little excited and a little nervous.  I was proud of her that she was willing to kick and run the bases by herself.  They have an option to pair up with their 4th grade buddy.

The inevitable happened...she got hit the face with the ball.  It wasn't like you're picturing, but enough for the boy to feel bad, everyone to react and to surprise Sally a bit.  We waved off the offer to go to the nurse for ice and she got back out there and finished the games.

I was able to come back in the afternoon to volunteer while BP worked for home (it was nap time for the littles). I got to be the 3rd base coach during Sally's last game, I coached her all the way to home to get the winning run for her team.  She was so proud! She'll be ready to rock it again next year!

moment before getting hit in the face...3rd base can be a little tricky to find

Last day of first grade!

So proud of this brave girl and all that she did this year! Starting a new school and meeting new friends.  She never hesitated! If you were to see her at school now, you'd never know she was a newbie!

It was a perfect day in the enchanted forest!

Prepping for Sally's arrival

Steps away from summer!

Music blaring, fun little sign and Popsicle!

Special Date with Mommy to celebrate a wonderful school year!
One Man's junk is ALWAYS Sally's treasure! She got to choose from a table full of things that her teacher was going to get rid of.  She got this giant lesson book and a calculator

First day of summer was a success.  All 3 little ladies joined me on a trip to Costco.  Thankfully we made it in and out between heavy downpours! Phew!

The Bigs played a whole lot of school.

We did a little hair stylin'

and some click click shoes

Sisters

Today I snuck out in the morning to go cheer on Kari and Lyndsay as they tackled Lola's 10 mile! They rocked it....holy hills.....eek!
When I came back, Daddy had put the pedals back on LJ's bike and she had already conquered 2-wheels!!! She's a rockstar! She can even start and stop all on her own!

The Harbert family came to visit and we had lot of fun watching the girls play!

To end the morning as we were walking the Harberts out, our neighbor was riding his hover board??? and we asked to give it a try, it was pretty comical

My new favorite quote from Blessed Teresa of Calcutta:

"Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.
Be the living expression of God's kindness:
kindness in your face,
kindness in your eyes,
kindness in your smile."

I stumbled upon it while reading one of the reflections on Blessed is She...you can sign up for a daily email with the days Mass readings as well as a little reflection.  It's a great way to start your day.  They also have an Instagram account that I enjoy.

Happy Day to you and you and you.
