Halloween 2017

Can I make a confession? I'm not a fan of Halloween.

It's stressful for parents.  Find the perfect costume.  Kids change their mind last minute.
Fly home from school, eat no dinner, get mad because you have to wear layers of clothes to stay warm and it makes the costume uncomfortable.  Check time, where is the Hubs, he's trying his hardest to be home early, but of course it's peek and something crazy happens at work that never happens so he's going to be later than usual, so you're stuck getting 4 kids ready to trick-or-treat.  Fight with kids about how many pieces of candy they can have.  Kid has tummy ache because they ate candy, and usually hardly ever get any, and they didn't eat their dinner.  They go to bed way past their bedtime.  They wake up super tired, but have to go to school and the arguing continues with what candy and how much they can have...

But really my least favorite part is the carving of pumpkins.  The set up, the clean up, the big ideas that turn into frustration and then mom and dad end up carving alllll the pumpkins.  I won a little bit in this category this year.  The kiddos decided they wanted to PAINT instead! Yahoo!

And we did survive and the kids had fun and they have memories to last a lifetime and it's just one of those things that's part of the parenting gig.

The Painted Pumpkins:

Happy Face: Mom, Mase Dawg: Mason, God Bless 'Merica: Dad
Emma Bee: Emma, Wicked Witch: Sally, Bunny: Libby

We were able to make it in to Libby's classroom party to help celebrate Halloween!  I was reminded that I did the same when Sally was in Kindergarten, Libby was almost 3 and Emma was a few DAYS old!

As expected, Emma held her own and could have stayed as a Kindergartner all day.  She was helping some of the Kindergartner's find the correct picture for BINGO

Libby was excited to have us there and was happy to include Emma!
Emma lining up for a picture from Libby's teacher, because why wouldn't she? :)

Mason's 1st Halloween! Is there anything sillier than a kid in a costume, and they have no idea how ridiculous they look?
