This one Speaks for itself

No intro needed on this one!

She did this all on her own.  Went to the front door, saw Crows (not just birds) flying around and starting cawwwwing at them.  What a nut! She's going to be so mad at her daddy some day for teaching her this!

Thank you Nana & Grandpa

Mickey is a big hit at Nana & Grandpa's house. He recites a story, moves his mouth and blinks his eyes when you insert a cassette tape.  You can imagine how that captures the kids' attention.

She's an outdoors girl.  She could stay out there for hours. Especially with all the fun toys at Nana and Grandpa's house!

Excited that her Mommy and Daddy came back, we always do!

Her new skill:

"Thank you Nana & Grandpa for taking such great care of me! I can't wait to come back and play soon! I love you!"

Weekend Review

We had a wonderful weekend away! A huge Thank You to Nana & Grandpa for watching Sally.  We were able to thoroughly enjoy ourselves because we knew she was in great hands.

We definitely didn't let the flu get us down.  Reid ended up getting it late Wednesday night and Nana ended up getting it late Friday night.  Not sure how I dodged that bullet!

Thank you to my mom and George for recommending this fabulous little get away.  We went up to Walker, MN and stayed at Chase on the Lake

I think. looking back, what we most enjoyed, was the freedom, after our hour long Aveda Massage of course!  No nap time to follow, no little bellies to feed or diapers to change.  We were able to make decisions within a split second and not have to worry if Sally would be able to make it work or not.

Everyone told us we had to try the pizza at Benson's.  It didn't disappoint!

We were on our way to go get dinner and saw "Thursday, half price appetizers." We turned around and pulled in! We're glad we did!

I'm a big fan of Bloody Mary's.  Often times, if they're served with "the works" they can be pretty expensive.  I about fell off my chair when we got our bill and my bloody mary was $2.75.  Are you kidding?! You can hardly get a pop for that price in the cities!

Can I ask what we did before Smart Phones?  It was so nice being able to search the surrounding restaurants, their reviews and their menus.  We found one that, on Fridays, they serve Chinese Food to go.  We love us some Chinese food!  We played darts while we waited.

I might not have the best form, but...

I won the first game!

Reid won the second game.

The lovely Chase on the Lake!

We had a great dinner Friday night at the Hotel's restaurant, The 502.  We have a lemon drop martini and a Big Ginger. We enjoyed our view, even if the lake was still frozen.  We were able to see some Bald Eagles.

The sun came through part of the clouds and we pretended that it was a beach with white sand...

We had some fun playing a little Black Jack.  However, we didn't come away as Big Winners!

...because I could

Downtown Walker had some very fun shops.  We went in every one.  Reid was a trooper, so we made sure he was able to browse the gun section at one of the stores.

We're not from around here, can you tell?

Can you see the big waves in the background? Yeah right, we wish!

Part of our hotel package

Can you guess who is blue and who is green?

Cheers to a fabulous weekend away!
Sally did wonderfully with Nana & Grandpa.  It was great to have a break, but it was so fun to be reunited again! Will post pictures of the little lady tomorrow!

MIA

Sorry I haven't been on in the past two days.  I have two very good reasons.  One, we have a sick toddler around here.  The flu AGAIN!! Third time this winter! Also, I haven't had an internet connection since Sunday night.  I'm borrowing my wonderful Neighbor Lady's until Qwest comes out tomorrow to fix it.

You guys, the flu this time around was TERRIBLE!! I'm not even exaggerating when I say Sally threw up at least 20 times.  I held and rocked with her from 10-3:30am, throwing up roughly every 10 minutes.  I love that little lady, but man is that mentally and physically exhausting.  Daddy helped for as long as he could, but he needed to get some shut eye since he had to work the next day.  At one point Sally was so exhausted she fell asleep in the middle of throwing up.  She looked up and said "Help me, Daddy!" Oh, I would have given anything to change places with her and take her pain away!  Really makes me think about Blessed Mary, especially this time of year, and all that she went through, seeing her Son die on the Cross.

Yesterday she was a little better, but it then started coming out the other end.  I don't know how there was anything left, as she didn't eat much of anything yesterday.  She's doing better today, especially after 13 1/2 hours of sleep last night.  However, her appetite still isn't back.  I know, I know, when we get the flu it usually takes a while too, but the other two times she has bounced back so much faster.  Hopefully tomorrow will go even better.

We hope she's back to normal by Thursday morning, because Mommy and Daddy are going away from the weekend.  It will make me feel less guilty if she's feeling better.  Nana and Grandpa have graciously offered to watch Sally, and we know they'll take great care of her!

Here's a cute picture of the soon-to-be-two-year-old! They came over to play last week!

On the plus side, it's almost April! and we're starting to be able to see our yard again! I'll do my best to post tomorrow, otherwise I'll 'see' you on Monday!

Dress Up

Ugh, was a popular sound yesterday.  More fricken snow (can you tell how excited I am about it?), it put us into an unofficial 5th place in the record books for most snow on record.  I think they said only another 3 tenths of an inch and we'll be in 4th place.  Gosh, I feel bad for the 1st-3rd place years! It's a good thing Reid decided to have his shoulder surgery last year or I would look like a body builder if I had to shovel all of the white stuff.

To help cheer us up, we played dress up and used our imagination that it really was Spring, like the calendar says!

"Snow, Snow, Go Away, I want to go out and play!"

I'm not sure if she could have anymore pink on...
