Puppy Love
Sally loves puppies, yes, we know that. She especially loves the one in the entrance to Old Navy. If the puppy was in the back of the store, I think I could seriously consider leaving her there while I shop around the store. She oblivious to everything around her when she's with this fake puppy!

Minnesota Nice
Would we appreciate our beautiful days if we didn’t have our four seasons? Would we be as friendly with our neighbors if we didn’t “hibernate” for 5+ months?
I’m not sure of the answers to those questions, but yesterday was a picture perfect day! Have I told you lately how much I love where we live? Location location location, really is key in picking a house. However, you never know who your neighbors are going to be.
I love that I can go outside with Sally and know that I’m sure I’ll meet someone new, or see a friendly neighbor we used to see often before the snow came. Or we can finally learn the names of the dogs and the owners who we see walk by every day. Or meet the new little one that joined our world over the winter months.
Why I love our neighborhood:
• Yesterday we were playing outside with sidewalk chalk and bubbles and Delores and Andie came over to visit and play
• Our neighbor got home from work and he couldn’t believe how big Sally was getting
• We said “Hello” to our friendly mail carrier, Jim. Yep, we know him by name!
• Sally was asking to go to the park to see the steps, the slide and the swings that she got to play on two days ago.
• I thought I’d humor her and see how far she’d walk. The park is about 5 blocks away. She’s bound and determined and of course she made it to the park. Walking the whole way all.by.herself. She’s her mother’s daughter, that’s for sure!
• On the way to the park we met the newest addition to the block, Hadley, and caught up with the family we used to see most days when it was nice outside.
• Sally met new boys and girls at the park “Hi Girl!” “Hi Boy!”
• On the way home we met my brother-in-law’s old high school friend and his son, who is only a month younger than Sally
• We learned that a puggle that lives on our street goes by the name of Luca (luke-ah)
• Our friends Brad, Mary and Lucy were out for a walk and stopped by for a visit
• Our wonderful babysitter was walking home from track practice and she stopped over to say “Hello” to Sally!
• My good friend who lives around the corner walked over and brought me flowers; just because.
Are we lucky or what? We feel the love, and love to share it! Come on over this way anytime, we’d love to visit!

This one Speaks for itself
No intro needed on this one!
She did this all on her own. Went to the front door, saw Crows (not just birds) flying around and starting cawwwwing at them. What a nut! She's going to be so mad at her daddy some day for teaching her this!

Thank you Nana & Grandpa
Mickey is a big hit at Nana & Grandpa's house. He recites a story, moves his mouth and blinks his eyes when you insert a cassette tape. You can imagine how that captures the kids' attention.
She's an outdoors girl. She could stay out there for hours. Especially with all the fun toys at Nana and Grandpa's house!
Excited that her Mommy and Daddy came back, we always do!

Her new skill:
"Thank you Nana & Grandpa for taking such great care of me! I can't wait to come back and play soon! I love you!"

Weekend Review
We had a wonderful weekend away! A huge Thank You to Nana & Grandpa for watching Sally. We were able to thoroughly enjoy ourselves because we knew she was in great hands.
We definitely didn't let the flu get us down. Reid ended up getting it late Wednesday night and Nana ended up getting it late Friday night. Not sure how I dodged that bullet!
Thank you to my mom and George for recommending this fabulous little get away. We went up to Walker, MN and stayed at Chase on the Lake
I think. looking back, what we most enjoyed, was the freedom, after our hour long Aveda Massage of course! No nap time to follow, no little bellies to feed or diapers to change. We were able to make decisions within a split second and not have to worry if Sally would be able to make it work or not.
Can I ask what we did before Smart Phones? It was so nice being able to search the surrounding restaurants, their reviews and their menus. We found one that, on Fridays, they serve Chinese Food to go. We love us some Chinese food! We played darts while we waited.
Downtown Walker had some very fun shops. We went in every one. Reid was a trooper, so we made sure he was able to browse the gun section at one of the stores.
Sally did wonderfully with Nana & Grandpa. It was great to have a break, but it was so fun to be reunited again! Will post pictures of the little lady tomorrow!

Everyone told us we had to try the pizza at Benson's. It didn't disappoint!

We were on our way to go get dinner and saw "Thursday, half price appetizers." We turned around and pulled in! We're glad we did!

Can you see the big waves in the background? Yeah right, we wish!

Can you guess who is blue and who is green?
Cheers to a fabulous weekend away!
