Dreams really do come true

The other night as I was cleaning up the kitchen, I was listening to my girls giggle while their Daddy read their favorite books with their favorite character voices.

They didn't know how well I could hear them or that I sat watching for a good 5 minutes before I was caught

Life is good.  I am happy. The end :)

Morning sun on the way to work out.  So hard to roll out of bed, but so worth it when I get home!

I know the summer days are getting limited slowly, but surely, so we're soaking it up just thinking about the piles of snow that aren't too far away

Practicing putting her face under

Chilling pool side, in the shade.  Crazy to think where we will be at next year at this time!

such is the life with a toddler.  "Hey Mom, thanks for making me this paint, this is my...oooops, sorry, I spilled it.  That's okay, we can just make some more, right?"

She thought the snap, crackle, pop was so silly

Hi Mom. Hi Libby.

Ice Cream with sprinkles for having a GREAT behavior day :)
Miss Libby doesn't get as many pictures as she should, but she sleeps so well and so much.  We love her just as much, I promise!

Friends

We had a wonderfully lovely night out on Saturday, when Grandma was babysitting.  It was in celebration of the bride and groom to be, Carrie and Tyler!  Thank you Liz, Joe, Jenny and Michael for hosting a wonderful shower!  Can't wait for the wedding celebrations in a month!!

Cheers to a great couple!

Their flower girl, trying on her dress one last time before the big day!

We were invited over for a lunch play date on Sunday.  It was a family from church who has little girls similar in age.  It's always nice to find people going through your same stage in life :)

The Big Girl Table, Sally, Charlotte and Audrey.  Clare and Libby were with the adults :)

All the eyes moved over to where the food was coming :)
I couldn't leave out my sweet little lady swinging away on this beautiful day!

Family

Sometimes I think it would be nice if the girls' grandparents lived closer.  The reason for the sometimes, is because growing up, my grandparents lived two hours away.  It was such a special treat to go down and visit.  It almost always meant a sleepover and something out of the ordinary.

My girls have that too.  It is such a special treat when we make the trip up to Alexandria, or the anticipation as they wait for the car to pull up outside of their house.

But sometimes it would be nice to have them live closer.  So they could see the girls more often, especially during this time when each day they grow and change so much.  And, let's be honest, the convenience of a babysitter.

We were able to use Grandpa a few weeks ago when we refinanced.  We were able to use Grandma this weekend when we had a couple's bridal shower.  It is so nice having the peace of mind that they are left in the care of their grandparents.  It's okay if they accidentally have my wrong middle initial on the closing papers and it is going to take an extra 30 minutes, because that just means 30 more minutes of alone time with their grandpa.  It's okay if we end up having a lot of fun and staying out later than expected because we know Grandma can just go to bed and not wait up.  It is also a bit easier on the checkbook when we are budgeting with only one income.

It is a toss up though, because if we're able to take advantage that a Grandparent is here to help watch the girls, that also means we are sacrificing our time with them too, and we don't always seem them as often as we'd like.

In the end, I'm not sure what my point exactly is.  I guess, whether grandparents live near or far, they just need to be appreciated, and I hope Sally and Libby's grandparents know that they are very much loved and appreciated! :)

Unfortunately we had too much fun with Grandma on Saturday and we didn't stop to take any pictures.

Don't mind the topless Sally, she got her shirt wet with something or other...who knows :)

Ready to head to Saturday morning donuts...she put her outfit together :)

Libby just being the chill baby and sister that she is and letting Sally do whatever she please with her...with a smile and some giggles of course

Waiting for Mommy and Grandma to get home from Church

Do you think Daddy enjoys the effects on his camera?

Tamara came to visit!

We had a wonderful surprise visit by Reid's Aunt Tamara! This was such a special visit for us, as she and her family have always lived out of state so we see them only at big family functions.  We always talk about coming back or stopping by on their drive through to see us.  This time, it worked out.

Tamara is such a fun loving lady, we really had a great time and some great conversations.  She had great insight on being a stay-at-home-mom, as she was too!

Sally misses her a lot already and is counting down to Thomas and Erin's Wedding in October, when we'll see her again!!  Thank you for taking the time to visit, Tamara, we had a hoot!!
