Tips to Survive the Hospital

Dear Bestest Friend Lucy,

I wanted to let you know that my mommy, daddy and I have been saying a lot of prayers for you and your family so that your surgery goes well. I bet you can't wait for it to be over! I just wanted to pass along some helpful tips that can make your stay at the hospital a little bit better. I sure can't wait for this to be over for you! Can we have a sleepover sometime soon after?!

1. Try not to kink your IV otherwise they have to poke you again and again until they get it back in
2. Tell your Mom that she gets free juice since she is nursing
3. The nurses mean well, you can tell them to leave you alone in the middle of the night and you’ll “ding” them if you need them
4. Get some rest at night time even though it isn’t your own bed, the more you sleep the better you get, the quicker you can go home
5. They put this light on your toe, if you kick too much an alarm goes off…see #3
6. Be good to your mom and dad, they love you a lot to be sleeping on those lumpy
chairs!
7. Make sure your mom and dad get some breaks too, the nurses are the best babysitters money can buy….well besides your Aunt Jackie and Uncle Reid of course!!
8. Your brother will want to play with you, but remind him that he has to be gentle
9. I always felt better when I prayed out-loud.
10. Remember how loved you are, lots of people are praying for you!

Call me anytime…I’m here to listen, or to talk! I love you a whole lot Bestest Friend!
XOXO,

Sally

I'm half a year old!!

Thanks for coming to play Nana and Grandpa! (I've found that sucking on my bottom lip helps to relieve some of my teething pain)
