Weekend Fun

Libby wrapped up her Catholic Schools week with Wacky Day

It was sports day for Sally and a typical morning for Emma :)
Friday was wacky day for Sally :)
Our school has a tradition of Dad's at the Door.  They surprise the students by lining the entrance to the school and giving high fives.  Sally had no idea and was completely shocked! She's in the pink jacket about to spot her dad ;)

Still can't quite believe he was there. "I saw you leave for work the way you usually leave, I had no idea you would be here."
And then once the students were inside, Father lead the dads in prayer
Here's a picture of Libby with one of her teachers on Pajama day
Nana and Grandpa arrived on Friday for the weekend! They offered to watch the girls while Reid and I attended Trivia Night, a fun fundraiser for our school.  Our group tied for 4th place out of 20 or so teams and we were the Starbucks Baristas.

This lasted about 1 minute, but it sure was a cute picture!
Nana got a pictureof each of the girls in their track suit

We all got to go to Open Skate.  Thanks to Nana and Grandpa for walking the track with Emma so Mommy could get on skates too!
Daddy shared his skates with Grandpa for a little bit too!

Emma enjoyed her time too :)
Nana and Grandpa treated us to brunch on Sunday after Mass.  We went to our new favorite place, School of the Wise.  My first ever fu-fu coffee drink in a mug, I always get them to go

Thanks Nana and Grandpa for watching our girls and all of the extra goodies, we appreciate you and your time!

The sun was shining so we went for a walk and then the Bigs and Dad stayed outside and played in the snow
The snow part of the snowman is great, Mom needs to work on getting some accessories
My husband's a nerd...his love for Eagles will never die
 Love this picture Daddy got
 The girls were impressed!

Have you thought about what you'll be doing this Lenten Season?  I would highly recommend listening to Father Mike's podcasts if you don't already!

Snow Days

I have great childhood memories of good ol' MN winters!  My mom sneaking in to my room after her morning work out to turn off our alarms because school was going to be 2 hours late.

Or the time school was cancelled, but we had gotten so much snow people were afraid their roof was going to collapse (Hello metrodome!) so Jenny, Joey and I borrowed the neighbor's ladder to climb on the roof to shovel it off.  But what it turned in to was us jumping off of the roof, without the risk of getting hurt because the snow banks were really that high.  My mom had walked to work that day, because it was safer and probably faster than driving.

Soooooo we finally had some MN winter snow in the middle of a school day.  Sally was let out of school 2 hours early on Tuesday and then had a 2 hour late start on Wednesday.

We even got Daddy to come home from work early so he wouldn't get stuck in the commute.

I have to admit, I wasn't a believer, I didn't think it would amount to as much as they had predicted, I'm glad it did :)

 My MN Girls!
Late start meant extra time to make Banana Bread!
 Footie Jammies are slippery
Emma had a great time at storytime on Monday

Can't believe Libby's old enough to address, sign and read her own Valentine's!
It's Catholic Schools Week!  Here's a great article explaining how much and why we value Catholic education!

Tuesday was Dress from a Different Decade.  Sally's class is studying Laura Ingalls Wilder, so she wanted to dress like Mary, Laura's older sister
Libby had PJ day, but when Sally was home she wore this coat to pretend she was Laura
and we can't forget about Carrie, the youngest sister :)

Happy Day!

32, Yahoo!

I had a great weekend celebrating my birthday.  The spring-like weather certainly helped!!

Beautifully decorated Birthday Signs, a scavenger hunt and my birthday cup.  The girls were so excited and they were well behaved all day, it was a wonderful day.  Thanks to Reid for giving it his all, he did great!

I always insist on family pics on my day...oh LJ

I've been waiting to check out the cute little breakfast joint by morning, wine restaurant by evening that's downtown Victoria.  It didn't disappoint, we'll be back for sure! Love how all the spots in our cute little town are filled with other families with small children :)

The Eagle surprised us with some egg laying!! We're up to 3 eggs!

We made it out for a walk and played around a little bit.  Probably my favorite memory from the day.  So many giggles from each member of the fam )

My people

Emma was in a particularly extra good mood!

We got to run a few quick errands so I could finish up my project, tada...I think I might need to add one more frame

Memories, I'll some day look back on fondly.  Busy little lady will finally sit for her bedtime book, she now demands it each night

My girls
LJ took a great nap so she got to venture out with Daddy to get my favorite take-outs, Thai and Cold Stone!

Reid and I got to eat dinner, fireside, talk about Life, plan for our upcoming trip and then play cards {not his favorite, but knew he had to because it was my birthday :)}

Thank you for all of the phone calls, cards, gifts, text and messages, I felt the love :)

Life really does get better with time!

Meanwhile Uncle Joey and his team were whooping it up at Pond Hockey.  We planned ahead and went to Saturday night Mass so we could attend his games on Sunday.  THEY WON!!!

The weather was fabulous for the spectators, but terrible for the ice.

The girls and Reid were able to stay for the first two games.  We drove separately so Reid could take the girls home for naps if/when they kept winning :)

Joey also won for cutest fans ;)
After naps Daddy took the girls for a walk
 They spotted Cardinals

Big Sisters cheering for their "little" Bro
 Family
 The trophy/Silver Scoop!
Undefeated Champions!  They'll be back next year to defend :)

Happy February!
