Mornings We Dream of

This morning was the kind of morning we dream of in the dead of winter!

The sun was shining away as we enjoyed our 15 minute news headlines, coffee and one quick cartoon.

We ate our breakfast, did or morning "responsibilities" and we were out the front door for a little morning coloring session.  Sally was working on some pictures to give to her teachers tomorrow for her last day of school.

We decided to walk to swimming lessons today.  On our way to the stroller we noticed some of our Tulips were starting to bloom.  We've been waiting since, well, September or October when Nana and Grandpa came to plant them!

They were quite excited!

Sally did great at swimming and we came back to eat lunch outside!

Sally's been asking to do one of her art projects that she got for her birthday, for quite some time.  I had a market research thing to attend to late in the afternoon {Thank you Delores, for watching the girls, yet again!}.  So I decided to let Sally come down from her quiet time a little earlier so we could work on her mirror together.  She was so excited and appreciative.

Thank you Gearman Family for the great gift, she loves it!

TaDa
I know this is the math nerd in me. But, ever since Sally learned about symmetry, she puts a little more thought and organization in to her arts and crafts.  I kind of like it :)
Mom, make sure you get a picture of the back too :)
We're excited to have Daddy back tomorrow and for the beautiful Memorial Day Weekend Weather!!

Happy almost Friday!!

Excitement

Yesterday was our first 80 degree day since September.  To say we've earned it, would be an understatement :)

Non-school days I let Sally pick out her clothes, within reason. {Thank goodness for uniforms next year!}She's been asking and asking to wear her butterfly dress.  You should have seen her face yesterday, when I said yes.

S:What did you say? Did you say yes?!

M: Yep, you can wear it!

S: Wow, thank you for being such a nice mom today.

M: Honey, I'm not mean the other days, I told you, as soon as it was nice out you could wear it.

S: What leggings do I need?

M: You don't need leggings.

S: Okay, what sweater do I need?

M: Nope, no sweater either, it's really going to be that nice!

S: Libby, did you hear that? We get to wear dresses today with nothing else!!

Oh, the simple joys!

Thank you Joerger Family for always sharing your girl clothes!!
Libby had on one of Nana's favorite dresses!

Today was a special day at Sally's school where the parents come to enjoy a morning as a pre-schooler. It was a lot of fun.  Unfortunately Daddy is traveling this week for work.  As much as we missed him, I really enjoyed my one on one time with Sally.  We don't often get that.

Thank you to Delores for watching Libby!! She had a great time!

We did some songs that the parents got to participate too.

And then some songs just for the pre-schoolers to do

After the songs they read a quick story.  I love capturing this look on Sally, you can almost see the wheels turning away in her head as she processes and absorbs all that is being said.

We all know I can be an overly emotional person, both excitement and sad, and even more so when I'm pregnant.  I try hard not to let my emotions about something feed off on to the girls, and let them develop their own.

I was talking with Sally and reminding her that this was her last week of pre-school and then she would be all done. forever and ever and ever and ever, that part was just in my head :)

"Do you like the eyelashes, Mom? I like girly stuff, don't I."
Yep Mom! After school is done on Friday, you know what's next?! KINDERGARTEN!!! I'm soooooo excited!!

I'm pretty sure she'd forego summer vacation and jump on the bus come Monday morning!

Seriously, the best of the best!
I guess if she's not sad about it, I shouldn't be either...Friday might be another story, as her fantastic teachers can be emotional wrecks like me :)

We even went out for Noodles with her friend Adriana!  So glad we don't have to say Good-Bye to her, as she'll be joining Sally next year too!

**We're still loving on Squirt.  Baby gets more kisses during the day than I do.  Squirt is moving and a groovin away.  Daddy is getting quite jealous, although, he got to feel a few little taps last night!**

Happy 5th Birthday to Lucy, today!!

Happy Hump Day!

Soaked

Libby and I were quite the sight today.  We ventured out to do our Target run, it's our last Monday morning without Sally, for a while.  We decided to laugh about it instead of ruin our day, I think because we had nice weather yesterday and warmer weather is coming our way.

We had a full cart, Libby was balanced on the handle of the cart, I was balancing her and holding the umbrella.  Lots of giggles, lots of wind, rain and wetness.  I pretty much looked like I had taken a shower once I had all the groceries loaded and the cart put away.  Not to mention bringing the groceries into the house.  It'll be a fun memory :)  We set a record amount of rainfall for this day.

The Lindberg Ladies came over this afternoon for a playdate.  Two visits in two weeks, it felt like old times! So great to catch up, especially on this rainy day! Thanks for coming over ladies!!

I thought of this, this weekend:

Sally upgraded to the bigger bike without training wheels this weekend.  So proud of her bravery!!

The Original Girlfriends

A while back I got an email from some high school girlfriends that we are loooong overdue for a get together and we should make it work, celebrate all of us turning 30!  The weekend was set and we met up {missing Linds}.  It was so fun to have so much time to catch up, remember memories, and just have girl talk!!

Friday night we met for dinner and dessert.  Saturday we met for brunch, shopping, lunch, deck talking, take out and more talking.  There was lots of eating, lots of laughter and lots of talking :)  It was so very fun!  Thanks girls, for making the effort, we need to keep up the tradition!!

Brunch at Hazel's--have to support the hometown boys :)

Meanwhile, Daddy did a great job holding down the fort with the girls.  They got to go to Josie's Birthday party.  Great Grandma Gen and Poosch came by for lunch, lots of outside play time.  They had a great time!

It was great to be back together again today.  How Gorgeous was today?! Once we were home from 8:30 Mass, we were outside the rest of the day.  We took our morning coffee down to play with the neighbor girls.  Mommy mowed the lawn.  We had lunch outside....

We had our first popsicles of the seasons!

Delores surprised the girls and made them capes.  {they no longer have to use their jackets} They were sooooooo excited!! They each have them hanging on their doors so they can put them on first thing when they wake up tomorrow.  How adorable are these?  Thank you Delores, you're too good to us!!

We enjoyed dinner on the grill and then headed for our first trip of the season to Park Yogurt!

Sally was excited to use some of her Birthday money--Thanks Great Grandma Gen!

Daddy wanted one with his girls to remember his fun one on one time from the weekend

The Craigmile Crew, ready for summer!!

Libby had her last day of school on Friday, she sure had a great time at ECFE and we met some really great friends!!

"I'm going to paint a picture for you and daddy, it's me and Sally playing outside"
When we joined the kids again they were "Going on a Bear Hunt." So stinking cute!!

Happy "Nice Weather Ahead Week"!!!

A Little Bit of This & A Little Bit of That

Spring weather changes by the hour.  These first few pictures were from a couple of days ago when it was particularly nice, hence the shorts!

Miss Independent

Delores had a water bottle out...L was trying to get the planes!

"Hey Mom, can I push my sister on the swing today?"

Lemon & Lime
 Shorts!
One of Sally's good friends from school was in Peru for 6 weeks.  She brought back some of her favorites to share with Sally.  We approved!!
 Bikin'

On Monday, Daddy finished his last spring semester, EVER!!  We're pretty excited!

We shouldn't be looking like this on May 13th!!

Luckily this morning was beautiful!  Libby and I made a last minute park decision.  We enjoyed the park to ourselves for a bit as well as one on one time with S being at school.  Who pulled up a few minutes later, Delores and Grady...we're connected like that :)

Only 4 more school days left for Miss Sally!!

I looked ahead to the 30 something day forecast.  It showed that once we get to June it is 70s and 80s, I'll believe it when I see it!

Happy Hump Day!
