Fab Five

Five years ago we were a couple of young bucks madly in love.

We went from this:

Feb 2002
To this:

We're a little bit older, a little bit wiser and a lot more blessed.  Not to mention the love has millionafide...you know what I mean :)

Reid has the day off today and we're making it an awesome family day! We started our day with a walk to get coffee, donuts and a trip to the park.  We came home, freshened up and headed off to Como Zoo!  We're looking forward to a wonderful family day and rest of the weekend!

Thank you Reid, for being my better half, partner in crime, the one who makes me, me and loves me for me.  I love you more today than the day we said 'I Do' and I'll love you even more tomorrow!!

*****

Daddy brought home flowers for his girls yesterday.  Sally got her very own rose!

Mommy had to head back to an evening Mass yesterday.  Sally had the option to come to church with me or stay home and play with Daddy.  She chose church, bless her heart!

Cheers to 5 years!!

Happy Anniversary! Happy Birthday Tiffany! Happy Friday! Happy Weekend! Happy Everything!!

Rollercoaster Behavior

Sally's back!

The car ride home yesterday was a breeze! The sisters missed each other.  Libby kept leaning over to look at Sally and say "Hi."  Sally would respond "Did you miss me Libby?" Libby with her profound "Yeah!"  They would hold hands and sing songs and then they were partners in crime!

Today we went to a different church for the celebration of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Libby was a big fan of the acoustics.  Wouldn't you know, you can't negotiate with a 1 1/2 year old.  She was soooooooooo loud.  Before we even finished the processional song we were making our way to the family room.  Every one knew it too, as Libby shouted Noooooooo, Jesus!! the entire way there.  She didn't want to leave Jesus.

Well then, the cry room was full of glass windows that was perfect for a little 1 1/2 year old to pound on.  We left during the Gospel.  I'll return tonight, without my sidekicks.

Libby continues to get  upset throughout the day about having to leave church.  She really is very sad that we had to leave and she keeps asking to go back.  Sally wasn't innocent in all of it either.

They know when I'm out numbered and they work together to make me look like I don't have control of my children.

Luckily our dentist visit went a little more smoothly!  No cavities for Sally Ann.  She did great too!  I so love our dentist office, the people that work there and the dentist! I highly recommend Doctor Amey!

Don't let their innocent look fool you!

I met up with two of my girlfriends last night for dinner and drinks.  We made sure that we continue to let each other know the highs of parenting, but more importantly the challenging times.  It helps to know that you're not alone and that you or your kids aren't completely crazy :)

This little one--although she continues to look and act older and older, especially after being gone for 3 days--had a very vivid bad dream last night.  She came down to our room at 4:45am talking about a mean little boy who was in her room and wouldn't go away even though she told him too.  Ooofta, poor thing.  I've heard about the "special monster spray" that you can have your kids spray in their room to "protect" them from monsters.  I think we're going to step in up a notch and sprinkle some Holy Water to help rid of the fear!  She said she couldn't go back to bed because she need to stay awake to watch for the mean boy. Breaks a Mama's heart

Happy Thursday!

Only Child

Little Miss Libby has been an only child since Monday morning.  She's loving the extra attention and I'm loving the extra energy with only having one child.

I don't want to complain too much on this here blog because I know that some day the girls will be able to look back and see what I've wrote, but last weekend we were really disappointed in Sally's behavior with a babysitter.  So bad in fact, that she was grounded to her room for the entire next day, where she had to write the sitter a note of apology.  Sally's having a difficult time listening and obeying the first....or 7th time.  I know all too well that this is just a phase, as is everything with raising children and figuring it all out.  Needless to say, it was a nice little break for the both of us.

We will be refreshed and ready to tackle the last few weeks of summer before she heads off to her last year of preschool, 3 days a week!

We've made it to quite a few little stores and usually aren't worth getting two kids in and out of the car for.

She gets to watch the opening song of Mickey Mouse Club House and the end where they sing the Hot Dog Dance.  She loves her some Mickey Mouse.  Can't wait to see her reaction in November when she gets to meet the live Mickey Mouse and gang!

She loves to pretend talk on the phone

She especially loves to have her daddy all to herself!

We had a quick date night with Tiffany, Izzy and Bobby, while the Daddy's were gone for the night! So fun to catch up and sneak in some baby snuggles!

Happy Hump Day!!

A little bit of this and a little bit of that

Libby helped Daddy study while Mommy did a Target run!

Good luck on your test, Daddy-o! You'll do grrrrrrrrrrrreat!
Sisters, enjoying one of our after dinner walks

We play this game where we do silly faces to who ever goes and opens the garage so we can park the stroller.  This is typical Daddy!

Making sure to document all of our weddings this summer.  This was Mark and Wendy's.  Yep, getting to wear that dress for a third time ;)

We checked another item off the bucket list.  A quick drink and dinner at Nye's {next time we'll stop by and say Hi Jane, we were pressed for time with our sitter!}

Saturday Mornings

I love our Saturday mornings.  We often get donuts and coffee and head out for a walk to the park.  The girls are usually rocking their jammies. This last Saturday we went to the Sunshine Park :)

Reid hash tagged one of his pictures "parkaholics" and I think that is pretty accurate!

Daddy has a big final on Tuesday so we studied while we played outside and mommy got ready for Mark and Wendy's wedding.

Sally's improving on her letter writing.  I told her how to spell rainbow and she wrote the letters!

Littlest Munchkin is so very good at playing by herself. I snuck this photo of her from around the corner.  She's so sweet!

Sally is off to hang with Nana & Gpa for a few days! It is just me and youngest! A  nice little break for this Mama!

Cousins Cousins and more Cousins!

As we all got married and started having babies, we see extended family less and less.  My cousin, Erica sent my sister and I a message saying we really needed to get together since we have 3 girls months apart and they've never met.  After many backs and forth we finalized a date and place and then extended an invite to the rest of the cousins.  I hope we keep it up, because it really was a lot of fun and we'd love to add the rest of the cousins and their kids to the group!!

Lunch time!

Running off energy!

Libby's in the middle she has one 2 months older {Katherine} and one 2 months younger {Sofia}

The crew for the day! 4, 4, 2 and 1 and some of us aren't done having kids and there are still cousins yet to get married and have babies and join the play date!

There's talk of just the adult cousins getting together which would be a lot of fun!!

Daddy came home with these for his girls

The just because kind are the best kind

Afternoons in the summer time on our block...

Happy Weekend, Happy Everything!

Ice Cream You Scream

I met up with my good friend Mary last night.  We meet in Burnsville, half way between our houses.  A little different than the 2 blocks apart we used to live.  I got to snuggle Maggie--can't believe she's already 2 months!!  And we got to eat some Cherry Berry Frozen Yogurt!

It's nice to escape the bedtime routine and it's nice for Daddy to have some one on one time with the girls.  I love getting text like this:

I picked a good one, that Reid Mitchell of mine! ;)
