Memorable Memorial Weekend

Crazy to think that a year ago we went home for Memorial Weekend and Sally was only 3 weeks old! This trip, we were helping her to try and take her first step! My how quickly life moves! Lots of pictures in today's post!

Eating breakfast with Grandma. We discovered Sally loves bananas in her cereal, but then again, did you see her rolls, what doesn't she love?!

We had to make sure to get some time in at Nana and Grandpa's house. Here's Sally's "special" signature look!


We enjoyed a happy hour at the Arrowwood Deck Bar. We were entertained by William and his dance moves!

Great Grandma Craigmile

We stayed over night at the Caribou Inn. Sally thought it was pretty funny when she woke up and realized she was right next to Mommy and Daddy's bed. She quickly stood up and said "Hiiii!"

Home Sweet Home!

We made it! 12 hours total, maybe a little more. 10 of those hours were in less than 24 hours! Yikes. Here's our lovely view for most of the ride....booooring!

From the cities to Hallock we went through NINE, yes, 9, construction areas. Each lasting at least 10 miles. It was kind of funny, the farther North we got, the faster the construction zone speed limit was because there is no one around!

The funniest thing we saw?? The one and only Oscar Meyer Weiner Truck! Our nephew Cannon saw it as well and yelled out "Hot Dog!"


On our final turn down the homestretch to the Farm in Hallock we saw this sign. I didn't get a picture the first time because I was laughing so hard. It might not be that funny to you, but we were pretty delirious after our trek through the state. I quickly got a picture as we were leaving..."Hallock-14 miles, Canada-35 miles!"

How did Sal Pal do? Wonderfully! She is an excellent car rider! Thank goodness we flipped her car seat. She had so much fun playing games with Mommy and Daddy, eating snacks, playing with toys, and looking out the window!


She may be a gymnast when she grows up, she's constantly doing the splits and pointing her toes!

She slept a total of 2 hours, there was just too much for this Dollie to look at...one farm land after another, she didn't want to miss a thing!

It's good to be home!

On the Road Again

Over the river and through the entire state of Minnesota to Great Grandmother's house we go! We are heading out today for our adventure to Hallock, MN. I'm sure we'll have some stories to share as well and pictures once we return on Monday.

We will continue our weekend with Family in Alexandria to celebrate Memorial Day! I'll leave you with a preview of the pictures to come from our photo shoot with my friend Liz! There's also a Donkey Kick video for laughs!

Standing

Sally has been standing by herself a lot lately. She thinks it is so funny! We love her little giggle. It won't be too long until she takes her first step!

Grandpa Pete

Reid's Grandpa Craigmile died Friday evening. It was a little bit of a surprise, but he had started to go downhill over the past year. It is a bit of a blessing, as it is always so hard to see people suffer and to not enjoy life as much as they once used to.

Grandpa Pete was a great man who had a smile that could light up the room. We were lucky to spend some quality time with him over the past year so Sally could meet her great grandparents. Grandpa Pete, you will be missed much, but never forgotten!

We will be heading North, and I mean way up North, on Wednesday. The funeral celebrations will be held in Hallock, MN, 6 hours from the cities. We decided it would be a good idea to finally switch Sally's car seat, in hopes that she'll enjoy the ride a little bit more. She tried it out in the kitchen before we put it in the car.

We went for a Sunday drive to test out the new ride. She was so funny, looking all around, taking it all in, but being oh so relaxed! Sorry for the haze in the picture it was 90 some degrees with 500% humidity :)
